Ooops - YouTube

Well, good going, you domain registering people over at YouTube.

After trying to load http://www.youtube.com/ a few times without the host resolving, I did a 'whois youtube.com' at the console prompt:

I wonder how long it will be before that gets fixed. And no, I have not visited any of the sites mentioned in the whois result, and I suggest you do not either.

Edited: And it's back. But not before at least one report made it to Google News.

Looks like it's been resolved, as all the embedded videos on Daily Kos have now reappeared and can be played.

Yup. But it was amusing while it lasted - especially browsing all the other panicking blogs and their hysterical commenters - I only found one other person who had had the presence of mind to do a whois to see what was going on.

I wondered what was going on but like the google article, eh - I made breakfast and figured "no big deal." It's hilarious - folks get so worked up about not having the internet at all hours of the day and night. Granted, I'm on here a lot but at least I am able to function and have a life outside of this electric box.
